StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is the sequel to the award-winning 1998 video game StarCraft.  Set in the 26th century in a distant part of the Milky Way galaxy, the game revolves around three species: the Terrans, human exiles from Earth; the Zerg, a super-species of assimilated life forms; the Terrans, the Zerg, and the Protoss. The game is set four years after the events of 1998's StarCraft: Brood War, and follows the exploits of Jim Raynor as he leads an insurgent group against the autocratic Terran Dominion. The game includes exciting new game-play mechanics as well as a host of new units and characters.

Qualification to the National Finals

Players can qualify for the WCG 2012 US National Finals by winning either of the two online qualifiers. The winning player per qualifier will receive stipened travel to the national finals where they will compete for the opportunity to represent the United States at the WCG Global Festival. Players that place second through fourth in the online qualifiers will receive an invitation to compete at the national finals, but will be responsible for their travel to the event. Players must be United States citizens to compete, and will not be allowed to qualify for multiple games.
